The question was asked how much a Beretta 92 costs both for MSRP and retail. I answered the question while the first user above me answered incorrectly. I answered in extreme detail as to all parts of the question and gave a link to a website.
However, when the first user saw his answer was wrong, he changed it to reflect mine, even copying my links. I edited my answer to say:
"user"... editing your answer to reflect other people's answers is a horrible practice. It just shows your own ignorance and lack of integrity. Frankly, I am amazed that you even made it to level 5 without being reported and removed yet with those kinds of practices.
For this I received a vioilation notice for insulting other members. Does this seem justified to you? I agree that maybe I came on overly strong. Maybe just seeing time after time of other people copying mine and others users answers, in some cases word for word, just gets old after a while.
It is just the fact that you take the time and effort to give a well written and thought out answer and the other person just copies and pastes it as their own. It is not so much the "competition" side of it as it is the principle of it. P.S. When I say I edited my answer... I did not edit out my original answer, but merely added the message to the other user as an EDIT. My original lengthy answer was still included.
