Hi All, Have attempted to educate myself regarding our Federal Elections, but there is still so much to learn and it appears there are an abundance of laws unknown by the public. I heard the other day that there is a law that states if 75% of voters did an informal vote-none of the candidates currently running could run again in politics for many years! Is this true? Or just a wish amongst us that are totally disillusioned by our government and politicians? Secondly, is there any chance the Greens couldctually get in?-sure they may scramble with too few policies, but it may be better then the other two? Any insight would be helpful, no need for sarcasm just some facts would be good.

Can no longer bear it, every election I do a 'donkey' vote, which only serves to assist the current party due to Australia's ridiculous electoral laws. My little protest of ONE is doing nothing, and stating nil to our politicians. A pack of media whores only interested in their politics and bitchy point scoring between the parties. If Australia is a democracy shouldn't it be my choice if I support one of the political parties? Why should we be forced to vote if no one available shares our moral values, beliefs, needs, or basic common sense? Can I be fined? Can I fight it? Is it legal to be forced to vote?. As Morgan Heritage sings "Why should we trust in politicians", "why should we vote in their elections" "if there is no place for we, you and we in their secret society", they call us minorities. What can I do, any suggestions for my protest of ONE? Serious answers please.

  • Why has the US turned against Obama?

Seems empathy, forward thinking and problem solving skills are no longer wanted by the US? Surely the US and the world can see that he and the current administration are attempting to not only alleviate the issues they have right now (most of which they inherited from the previous boffins), but most importantly they are dding some forward thinking. For those who believe it's socialism or communism, bah humbug. Both of those idealogies are perfectly sensible solutions...don't be put off by the words only, it's not an all or nothing proposition, have a look into it seriously-they aren't dirty words. The entire world would benefit from Obamas ideas,. Why is there so much poverty in a world where the wealthy just continue to get wealthier and the poor, poorer.. Many of the so called 3rd world countries are the most resource rich in the world, however the westerners, the developed nations, and ithe ndividuals greed and need for power is what is truly holding our world at ransom. If everyone (yes even the rich and the upper middle class) were prepared to give up a bit of their ridiculous levels of comfort and hedonism the world would be a much better place. Lastly don't just think about your own lives think about your grandchildren, great grandchildren not even dreamt about as yet...what will you be leaving them? What sort of world do you really wish this was? If you answer honestly (with just a touch of empathy for others) you'll see Obama is 100% correct, give him a break. This is not a racial issue, it's a world on the verge of collapse.

  • Numb sensation in left front thigh?

Hi since yesterday I've noticed that my left front thigh is numb. Sort of like if you sit on your foot for to long and it falls asleep. But certainly don't know how this could be on my thigh. The skin on my thigh looks normal (as always) but there is this sensation that it's numb or hollow. Any ideas anyone?

  • I've invented a oral remedy - using natural oils...what do I do next?

After years of major dental work, pain, infections, and lots of money I finally invented a mix of oils (made of essential oils) that not only cures any infections, it keeps them well at bay, and takes away any pain. I'd like to be able to share this information and even better make a small profit by selling it to the masses....what's my next step? Do I need to patent the recipe?, do I need to get it analysed professionally? Any ideas or experience would be helpful. thanks lots Jul

Day after, still no better but a fever rash of sorts. Back to the doc who took him off penicillin and placed on ceflaclor. Temp & rash now gone, but exceptionally cranky & itchy head, pulling ears & lots of screaming. Very unusual behaviour, he talks well and will ask for water or milk, but when you offer it to him he says no, a second later asking for it again, just seems really muddled, huge tantrums - screaming, rolling around the works!! Have checked for nits/lice, no temp today, is still pulling his ears...Could this incredible behaviour be caused by 2year molars?...or something else. Any ideas Mums?

Unlike the expected tantrum he seems to simply just 'lose it' with no apparent reason why. Unlike normal tantrums it's not due to something happening, or being told NO! Everything is normal and then he just throws an absolute whammy! Crying, screaming MUMMY!, doesn't want to be picked up, or put down, nothing seems to settle him and eventually I just have to pick him up restrain him as best I can (cause he kicks and hits during these) and just wait it out trying to soothe him with words. Has only happened twice, but it is the last 2 days running. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. P.s. we also have a 10yo girl, but she never did anything like this.
