However, when my computer crashed, the only way I was able to launch XP again was by using the original restore disk that came with the computer. Now, everything is like it was fresh out of the box. None of my drivers are current and I am not showing my network card on the system either to connect to the internet from the desktop. Is there a file or program under App Data, Program Files, or Windows that I can run which will restore all the backed up data on my computer? The System Restore function is only taking me back to after when the system crashed. Any help is greatly appreciated. Specs are: Gateway GT 5056 AMD 64 X2 XP (previously SP3)

Who should I be turning to? I have heard that tax preparers like H&R Block are relatively cheap but do they give tax advice for future opportunities? Should I look more towards a CPA or an actual tax advisor? I think I am looking for a little more personal approach than on online tax service. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

  • Charging a car battery without the car.?

I have a dead car battery but no live car to charge it. I do have a charger that connects to a power outlet and the battery has been removed from the car. My questions are, do I have to ground the charger as I would normally with the dead car by clamping the negative end to a metal surface? Or can I just connect red with red and black with black?... show more

My questions are, do I have to ground the charger as I would normally with the dead car by clamping the negative end to a metal surface? Or can I just connect red with red and black with black? And once it does get charged, how safe is it to reattach to the car? This may be a fairly inane question but won't I get shocked when reattaching the metal terminals to the battery using a metal tool? Thank you.

Any ideas? Thanks.

This is a 2 part question: I am trying to pull a relative date that reads as the month (ie:September) from a numerical date format on a different tab, then calculate the 3 previous months automatically. I believe that the function to use is either =Month or =Text but I cannot get them to pull the date from the MM/DD/YYYY format and turn it into only the month (September.) I need this to not be specific only to september so that I can use this function each month. Once this is accomplished, I want to calculate the previous months in the same way. So: If I want cell A4 to be the current month and A3 the previous month, and A2 the one before that... I have seen a formula where the cell is formatted to 'date' and it takes the date in one cell (A2 is Monday) and adds 1 to it to give the next day (A2+1 is Tuesday). Any thoughts?

It looks like it will be pretty expensive to register in TX as a new resident ($300) vs. $75 to renew for TN. This matter is also a tad bit complicated because TN does not participate in the Intra-state licensing compact. I might have a ticket or two that have not caught up with me because of this. I want to register in TX but it is not worth it to me if the previous indiscretions are waiting for me when I register. Any advice/experiences? TY.

Jan Feb Company ABC 2006 1 2 2007 1 2 2008 1 2 Anyway, I need to sort a list of company's by alphabetical order, while keeping the yearly data in the same order. Is there a special way of separating by groups and then sorting? I tried to highlight each group by using CTRL + highlighting with the mouse, then using the sort function, but it said I cannot sort by multiple fields. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. PS. The diagram does not appear how it should when I submit it.

In MS Excel, I need to pull data that correlates to a certain year on a spreadsheet, then add it all together. There are multiple years in column B so I just need to get that of 2007. I need to know the function that would enable me to do this. Thanks for your time.

  • How can I make the buzzing noise stop with an original NES?

I juest bought a used (duh) NES. There is a rather loud but low, dull buzz for lack of a better work. It goes away with the volume off and is present with every game, leading me to conclude it is a problem with the system. Everything else operates fine. Any ideas as to what is causing this and how I can get rid of it?
