I want to draw up a 'contract' of sorts. But I don't want to share the details with the notary. Do they have to see what you're contract is?

Okay we are desperate! We have so many financial issues going on it just isn't funny. The bank says no bankruptcy is a bad plan, the bankruptcy place says it's the best plan possible. We have a mobile home that we have owned (bought new) for ten years. We still owe $28,000 on it. We have only paid about $3,000 towards the principle of the loan as of now. We MUST move it. Our neighborhood has turned to simple trash. I can't take it anymore and MUST move. So either we move the house to land (we have an approval for a loan to do that), we sell, or we file bankruptcy on the lot of it. We have a car with payment of $400 a month and a truck with payment of $350 a month. We are making all our payments on time. But we feel like we are barely treading water. If we roll over the car onto a new loan (to get a lower payment) we are still in the same boat as we are now with a high payment, because we owe more than it is worth. Same with the truck. As for the house, we aren't sure if we should move it to land, in the hopes that when the economy picks up that we can sell for more than we owe. Sell it to someone (which there is no bank going to give a loan for a house loan that is more than the house is worth). Or ? We called our bank and of course they don't want us to file and get a fresh start. We talked to bankruptcy places, they say FILE!!! And we simply have no one to talk to. We are in our early 30's and this is a huge step that can take us either in a good or a terribly bad direction. Please only real answers. Please no trash. I have enough stress without dealing with someone being senseless. Any other questions please ask...

  • Chicken pox question?

My little boy has signs of chicken pox. (spare me any lectures please). But they haven't come out to stay yet. When he gets warm they are ALL over him. But once he cools off they fade. It has been two days now and they still aren't out. Any suggestions?

  • What do I tell the family about the holidays without making them all hate me?

One of the brothers is a thief and has stolen from us (out of our house the last time he was here). The other brother has a history of being a thief as well. Another member of the family has bugs and we do NOT want them. Not to mention all the other drama that comes along with them. And bottom line it is a huge hassle and worry the whole time they are here. We can't go to their houses because 1.) has bugs 2.) houses the thieves 3.) they all smoke like freight trains and we do not want that around our kids. Oh and yes my husband agrees we don't want to be in the middle of it all. Problem is, WHAT do we say to everyone so no one hates us? We don't want to be mean and start a war. But we just want to be left alone and able to be happy. I want the holidays to go off without any problems. AND we have kids, so they are all going to want to give them gifts. *sigh* Does anyone have any HELPFUL suggestions?

  • Are there any strict parents out there?

I suppose I just need a little support. I am a strict parent. When I speak I expect that my child listens. I don't let my 16 month old run loose like a wild man. Bribing and rewarding bad behavior seems to be the standard. I guess I just need someone else to say they understand and also believe children should behave. Is there anyone else out there?

  • How much is a normal amount to spend on groceries for a family?

I am wondering how much is normal for groceries each week? I have myself and my husband as well as two children. They both eat a large amount. I typically spend $100-$150 a week and that includes most everything I need. Is that a large amount?

  • Need good come backs to people who say STUPID things about your child. Any thoughts?

Okay my son is 15 months. He is a big boy. I know that. I carry him around. Yes he walks, but I do lift him. It has NOT escaped my attention that he is a larger child. But people INSIST on saying STUPID things about his weight. Now I am not a 'mean' person. But I am SO sick of 'what a big boy you are' and WOW he is HUGE. And all the other... show more

But people INSIST on saying STUPID things about his weight. Now I am not a 'mean' person. But I am SO sick of 'what a big boy you are' and WOW he is HUGE. And all the other senseless comments that we hear LITERALLY every time we are out. It is to the point of me wanting to keep him home so people shut up. Somehow they feel it is okay, or even manditory to say something about his size. No he doesn't know what people are saying. But I do. And when you have a child and someone won't stop picking on them, it hurts YOU. Its almost like they are talking about you. My heart breaks for him. If he was 4 and was overweight I would do something more active about it. But he isn't. He is still a baby and he is walking and moving more so he will outgrow it. He eats healthy and the doctor has said he is fine. He is in the top 90% of his age but not by any means grossly overweight. My oldest was the same way and now he is thin as a rail. So I need good 'decent' comebacks to people that run their mouths. I don't wanna be a wench to anyone. But something snappy but subtle would be great. Please note I am not asking for diet suggestions or comments about his size. It is people like you that I really just want to shut up. I want people to notice all the other wonderful things about him and realize that saying he is fat is flat out RUDE and unappreciated. If he was unhealthy the doctor would have already made adjustments. So please spare me anything but come backs that will be helpful. Thanks!

We have no credit cards and no one will refinance ANY of what we have. I want to move but obviously our house won't sell for what we owe. We can't get rid of the Kia because again its worth less than what we owe. My husband works full time and has a great job. But overtime has been cut. So we really have no extra money. I homeschool our oldest and we have a one year old as well. I have no experience and no way to get any unless I pay for childcare. Which would defeat the purpose of having a job. Is bankruptcy our only option? Please only serious answers. We are at a total loss. We are in our early 30's and just want to actually start living and have a home. Not live in a trailer park raising our kids.

  • I simply can't remember, what is wrong?

I already don't remember things from him being an infant. I have had people tell me (and it has been verified) that we have hung out together and been close friends. I have NO memory of them. OH and no I have never done heavy drugs or anything like that. Sometimes I remember the event but nothing about it? My father in law once said it was like a computer file. The folder is there but there is nothing inside. Do you have any idea what this could be? And please no stupid comments, I am seriously struggling with this. Already been to the doctor. He has no idea either. *sigh* Anyone?

But my son is starting to back away from his stuff now when he sees this child coming. They will say 'give it back to the baby' and repeat themselves about 10 times and finally get it back to my son. But I'm not sure what I can do. I don't feel it is my son's place nor mine to MAKE this child stop. But I don't know what to do. We are working now on teaching our son to say 'NO' when someone tries to just snatch a toy from him. But I just HATE this. I don't know how to be polite about it. Grandma lives near by and has voiced that kids just need to 'hash' it out themselves. And if they were 4-5 years old I would say let them speak up for themselves a bit more. But dang it my son is barely a year old! He shouldn't HAVE to speak up.GRR any advice on how to handle this nicely without making this into a huge war?
