• Our family just recently adopted a dog and he occasionally growls at my 4yr old?

Last week we adopt a shih Tzu (possibly a mix). Since we got him he occasionally growls at my 4yr. Some of the incidents were; he was laying on the floor and my 6yr old was petting and then my 4yr old went to pet him (she was being gentle and calm) and he growled just before she touched him. Some of the incidents were; he was laying on the floor and my 6yr old was petting and then my 4yr old went to pet him (she was being gentle and calm) and he growled just before she touched him. Another time she went to pick up one of his toys to toss it for him and he growled. Each time he has growled she backed away and I put him in the kennel. I have made sure that all interactions was supervised by me or my husband , I make sure it's short, so that he does not get annoyed and I make sure the kids are being calm and slow when approaching him. My husband wants me to give him back to the rescue, since he is untrustworthy and random with his aggression to her. Should we try to work with him more or should we give him back so that he can find a home with older kids or no kid home? He is otherwise a fantastic dog. He listens, is playful, only had one accident for the entire week he has been here.

  • We just bought a house, moved in and...?

have possibly heard a mouse/mice in our bedroom ceiling. The seller marked in the disclosure that they had no knowledge of insects or rodent infestation and signed it, but we have found mice droppings and a mouse trap in the kitchen cabinet. We had a inspection done also and was not told they saw signs of mice. Can the sellers be held responsible... show more

I'm extremely upset, especially since I have toddlers!

For a month now we have been committed to taking on a bulldog from a rescue place. We just found out that we may have to take in my 6yr old god son for a year. My husband job is 2hrs away from our new house so he can only come home some weekends, when he is not on call (this will be for a couple more months and then he will be closer and home with us) Should we still adopt this dog? I already feel like he is part of our family and we have been so excited to get him! He will need some training, he is a little mouthy and he jumps all over the children ( he is over 50lbs). He has some stomach issues, because his last TWO owners were horrible to him, so he need special meds and food. We have also paid the $600 adoption fee and we are suppose to pick him up next week. Oh and we have an almost 3yr old frenchie.

  • Buying a house with some issues after inspection?

We just had an inspection on a house we would like to buy. We expected there to be issues, seeing how the house was built in 1977. The porch columns on the house has some wood rot, the paint on the exterior is chipping and needs to be repainted, the deck needs to be fixed, the wiring on the garage opener is not wired well, along with some other minor things, but our major concern is the furnace, which has not been serviced in over 5yrs, its not lifted off the ground and there was a sink hole found in the back yard by the deck. How should we handle that? Should we have them service the furnace and figure out what is going on with the sink hole...or should we have those area inspected by a professional before buying...or buy it and fix it ourselves? Also, are suppose we give a copy of the inspection to our Realtor agent?

  • I need a break from baby!!?

I have a 3 mth almost 4 mth old (16ks old) who is really needy. She doesn't like to be put down for very long and screams and cries until I pick her up again. She was getting better at sleeping at night, maybe waking up 2 times throughout the night, but now she wakes up every 2 or 3 hours. I am so tired. I can't devote every minute to her... show more

She was getting better at sleeping at night, maybe waking up 2 times throughout the night, but now she wakes up every 2 or 3 hours. I am so tired. I can't devote every minute to her because I also work at home. I get so fustrated with her ( I feel bad when I'm angry at her)and I have no one to help me! My husband is deployed for 6mths and I have no family where I live. I only have a few friends and they are way too busy to come help me. I don't know what to do. I just want a break!
