  • I am looking for a 1950s to 1960s love song that is like Earth angel but more upbeat. Any song from the 60s or earlier is preferred.?

I am working on a short film and when the main character sees his love interest for the first time, a love song plays in the background. I really like Earth Angel but I feel it is too slow. The song must be from the 1950 s,1960s or earlier. Thank you.

  • Paul Simon or Art Garfunkel?

Best answer: Not to take anything away from Garfunkel, but clearly Simon was way more talented. He did not have "maybe" the better solo career--there was no comparison between the solo careers of the two of them. Simon could have been a star without Garfunkel, but not vice-versa.

My need is to most create the spine and the direction of the songs before they get fully flushed out. The problem is I have very little experience and not a great laptop. Does anybody have advice for a good starting program that would be relatively easy to learn but also isn't just garage band? I plan do develop past the point where garage band fits my needs (hopefully)

  • Which year of the 1980's had the best music?

Best answer: All of the music in the 80s was pretty bad. The boy groups all looked alike, and nothing very serious was dealt with through music. Go back to the 70s or forward to the 90s.

Best answer: It's not so cut and dried. A piano is extremely forgiving for absolute beginners - you press the key, you get the note you want every time. Not so with an oboe - producing any sound at all is hard, and even harder for a cello - it's extremely easy to be out of tune. However the learning curve for piano is steep - you have to move each hand independently, then have independence even within one hand, whereas the learning curve for a saxophone is more linear.

However some instruments are consistently harder than others. Harp is mind bendingly difficult, as you have to be able to think in many different modes - something no other instrument has to do. Organ starts simpl(ish), gets very hard for intermediate-advanced players and then levels out. French horn is usually said to be the hardest brass instrument because the partials are extremely close. A professional percussionist needs to learn just about every percussion instrument, from tuned instruments like timpani and vibraphone to untuned ones like the drumkit and congas.

Rarer instruments tend to be harder. Uilleann pipes are also said to be very hard - not only does the fingering make absolutely NO sense, but you also need to keep a constant even pressure to keep the instrument in tune. They are so difficult that they are sometimes known as 'the piper's despair'!

I ll let the band know all the details, just wondering if I need more than just their word for it.

Once you're comfortable with the guitar and feel you've acquired a little competence, take some theory lessons with a piano teacher to get a basic knowledge of how music works.  As your understanding increases, you'll see more in the things you learned before, and your ability to learn will itself expand.

I recently bought a guitar and I’m gonna try and learn everything I need to learn and wanna learn along with a bunch of songs I wanna learn, I know this is going to take a long time to do but after I do all that I feel like I’m not gonna know what to do with the guitar and every thing I learned with it. I feel like there’s gonna be nothing for me to learn or anything except play a Bunch of songs I don’t really like. I was thinking of maybe righting songs or somthing but I don’t know. What I’m trying to ask is what do people usually do after they learn every thing.
