• How do you know if a kitten is really still hungry?

I hear cats often beg for more food even after having been fed and they should not be fed extra. My kitten eats half a sachet/small tin of wet food, 4 times a day. Is this enough food for her? She is 3 months old, no dry food at all. But after eating she cries for more food. She sounds sincerely hungry so I usually... show more

  • Why did my cat die a few hours after a stroke?

Best answer: As others have said, 14 is not "quite young" for a cat. The average domestic cat lives 14 years -- that's like 72 in people years. You wouldn't say a 72yo human was "quite young" and neither is a 14yo cat. Strokes in cats can have different causes. It is possible that your cat had one... show more

Strokes in cats can have different causes. It is possible that your cat had one that was very deadly and from which he could not recover. But regardless of the cause, it should have been treated immediately. The vet who told you to bring him in later in the day or Monday did not give you correct information.

We would let her come inside but she doesn’t want to because she is scared of the dog so she’s happy on the porch. Recently she’s been getting noticibely skinnier and clumps of hair have been showing up in her water bowl. Both of her sides are losing a significant amount of fur and I’m really concerned. I don’t know how old she is so she could just be dying of old age, but if that’s not it and there’s something I could do about it I’d really like to know. Thank you

We have also used a mat(maybe it wasnt that good of a mat?) but somehow our cat gets it everywhere including the bed and it feels like I'm sleeping in a sand box and I'm super frustrated lol

(we don’t want to do it our self because my brother doesn’t care about the cat and won’t do anything for it besides feed it, my mom is scared to touch it, and my dad doesn’t want anything to do with it, so it’s just me, i am deeply afraid of bugs, any kind) The only way they would get rid of the fleas for my cat is by going to petsmart, paying $6, and showing them that my cat has a rabies certificate. we haven’t gotten my cat his vaccine shots yet, which means we don’t have the rabies certificate. we are going to give him his shots in 2 weeks because that’s when the appointment is. I’ll have to wait 2 weeks till we go to petsmart so they can remove the fleas. i’m afraid that the fleas will multiply very fast and you would be able to see fleas in every part of his body. i’m scared a little (cuz bugs 😟)

I was asleep one night when my cat bit at my hand (I'm guessing it was moving and she pounced on it cause she is a cat). It woke me up and I sleepily smacked her head. She jumped from my bed and hit my dresser and meowed loudly and ran off. I went to her hiding spot to make sure she was ok. She began hissing and biting at me. I went about the normal morning routine (feed her, fresh water, etc). She eventually came out to eat. I picked her up to make sure she wasn't seriously injured. She meowed and peed all over me. Since then, she goes through really varying stretches of lovable and cuddly to fearful and hiding. I've given her a lot of treats, new toys, and attention, but then eventually she flips a switch and runs and hides. This has been going on for two weeks (since the incident). Will she ever come to trust me again? Will our relationship go back to normal? Should I find her a new home? I want her to be happy and feel safe

So I just recently got a baby kitten. He is 8 weeks old and brand new, I have a cat/kitten at home I have had for 8 months now and I got her when she was a kitten as well. I brought the kitten home and I knew there was going to be some jealousy and territory stuff for a while. They have been with each other for a night and day now, The kitten seems open to exploring my other cat but my other cat is very hateful towards him. He is chilling and running around, eating and that sorta thing. However, I showed him where the litter box was several time last night and he still peed in my bed. He is litter box trained because I was staying with my mom and we had a small litter box. So is that because of my original cats smell? The other one hisses a lot and makes a growling noise towards him. How long will this be a thing? Will they ever like each other? She scared the kitten and it makes me sad. I mostly got him because she is a ll alone all the time because I work full time and go to school and wanted her to have a friend, :c
