I m 16 and I just got a job at my local McDonalds. I ve been working here for almost two weeks and well...I ******* hate it. Most of my coworkers are nice and reassuring, but there are some coworkers and managers that can be real *****. I need to start saving money for college and a car, so that s why I started searching for a job in the first place. My best friend also got a job there, but I never work with him. My family was finally happy that I got a job, and I don t want them to be disappointed or think I m a coward for quitting. But this job ******* sucks and I just want to spend my summer relaxing and hanging out with friends. The job itself is quite complicated because I have to work the counter, work drive thru, get the food bagged and out, clean the lobby and the kitchen, make fries, restock supplies, etc. The pressure is really getting to me. And it doesn t help when my coworkers and managers are being total dickheads because I m relatively new. I haven t gotten paid yet either. I was told that I would be getting paid this Friday, and then I was told next Friday, and then today i was told in three weeks. My parents probably wouldn t approve if I decided I wanted to quit. Idk, it s just extremely stressful and I feel pressured. I ******* hate this feeling so much that I m starting to feel depressed because most of my summer is spent working at a job I hate. I also live in a small town, so it s kind of hard finding a job. I guess I just need advice.

  • Are government school teachers underpaid??

Best answer: No. In fact for the 180 days a year they actually work, they are overpaid. Making 55k a year with summers off. Not too shabby.

I work at a restaurant(Bob Evans) and am employed currently as a dishwasher, I've had this position about a year and a half and am still making minimum wage, my job morale has slowly diminished to the point where I don't even want to work and when I do my job performance is extremely sluggish, I'd be behind, I'd be more lazy compared to what I used to be, I'd start taking a lot of vacation days(especially on the weekends, the days I know I hate working the most). My sluggishness would be tripled on days where we're already backed way up on like holidays and such. Handling management has been a chore(I used to like all but one manager, now I only like one). Do you think a raise and/or promotion might help or that it might be time to get a new job?

  • How should I respond when my boss put a folder on my desk & says here's the folder from John Smith & quickly walks away. And I have no idea?

Best answer: You should respond the way you responded last time, but without anger in your voice if you want to keep your job.

  • How should I leave my volunteer job?

I've been doing it around a year, work 3 hours per week on Wednesdays - I teach IT one-on-one - I've come to really think of it as a chore and I get little out of it. I think they may have realised I'm not into it, so not sure if I'll be missed. I'd like to keep them as a reference but not sure how willing they'd be to do that if I leave. I didn't go in last week, as it's a two week course the student I'd have had will have been given another trainer so they may not even need me this week, thus I'd like to email them to say I'm leaving today/tomorrow. I'm REALLY bad with ending things. I've wanted to leave for six months. It would be saying I'm leaving via email - how? What do I say to them? .

Usually in stores, you work with an RF gun that scans items and the scanner will tell you where to put them away. As you get to know where things are you will be able to tell people what aisle to find them in. With any job that you get they should train you for before your put on the floor by your self.

  • Why don't more employers take more risks when hiring staff? Edit?

So tired of throwing my resume/ coverletter to the wall hoping it sticks somewhere. I had enough of it so I quit my job. I really do need the job and I feel stupid for my decision. I didn’t want to get anyone in trouble or seem like a “tattle tell”... would it be wrong to come in and speak to HR or send them an email about the situation? Or is it too late since I have already resigned?

  • Is a 30 min drive for a minimum wage (or just above) worth it?

Best answer: Your parents input on this seems important, as between them they're going to have to spend 2 hours a day in the car getting you there and back.

Beyond that, you know not working gets you nothing, so do you want to earn any money this summer or not?
