Best answer: Yes, there is almost certainly life elsewhere in the universe. It is so unimaginably massive it is highly improbable that Earth is the only place that has life on it. There may, of course, be life in some places that is only single-celled and able to tolerate conditions we would not normally associate with being suitable conditions for life. There is also a possibility of planets with more complex life. There may even be planets with highly intelligent life forms. It must also be considered that because of the age of the universe there are places where there was once life but it is now extinct.

Because the universe is so vast finding even remote evidence of life is extremely challenging. Life may be so widely spread throughout the universe that planets with highly intelligent life forms with advanced technology cannot detect life on other planets for no other reason than it is so far away.

  • If there are black holes, shouldn’t there also be dim holes?

Best answer: Any gravitating object has a slight effect on the direction of light rays that pass near it without striking it. That doesn't make it a "dim hole" -- the light still passes by, but ends up on a slightly different trajectory than it would've had otherwise.

Best answer: When Georges Lemaitre first introduced his theory he referred to it as the "primordial atom". It was a radical concept as the scientific establishment preferred the idea of a "steady state" universe. The renowned British astronomer, Sir Fred Hoyle, was a major opponent to Georges Lemaitre, and coined the term "Big Bang" in making fun of Lemaitre's theory. He claimed that Lemaitre was blinded by his Christian religion into taking an unscientific position.

Atheists first opposed the Big Bang Theory because it suggested a time when the universe was created. When the theory was confirmed the atheists had to suggest what existed before the Big Bang, and they managed to come up with the multiverse theory which cannot be proven.
