• My boyfriend won't pay for my gym membership?

    I really want to lose weight and I made plans to go to LA Fitness gym, but my boyfriend refused to pay for my membership. He claimed a gym wasn't necessary to lose weight. He happens to a boxer and he claimed he wouldn't pay, no matter how much I demanded. I didn't find out, until this morning, but he made a full packet last night, anticipating workouts and basically, typed out a regimen of exercises to do at home. The whole program is purely calisthenics and running. For each of the days, he also placed down the foods he was willing to cook for me. He said accepting it was entirely my call, but that he would support any decision I made, but I want to go to the gym! Why can't he just pay?

Signs:I'm always very cold, I'm afraid of gaining weight, I think of myself as a fat person, even though I know that I'm truly underweight and I exercise to burn fat. 2 days ago I had a tic(type of seizure that are ''popular'' with anorexics, but I'm not sure if it really was a tic. I've been eating 800-1000 calories daily, but then i binged for 4 days and ate approximately 2000-2500, now I've been eating very few calories. I just don't know what to do. I don't want to binge anymore, 'cause I'll feel guilty. I don't want to throw up anymore, I cannot imagine myself doing this.

    You're right in not wanting to pay for a gym membership, but your logic behind it is flawed. Going to the gym will not magically make you bulky, it takes months to build a decent amount of muscle, most athletic, physically fit people have trained for at least a year. Besides.. you could just stop before you got "too bulky".

    Humans are naturally mobile creatures, we should be active everyday without fail. I'm glad you are now more active, it does wonders. You should definitely workout at home.
    Team sports, body weight exercises, and stretching are the key to longevity, it will improve your coordination, flexibility, balance, agility, and cardiovascular fitness. These activities will also set you up for later in life since they will increase tendon strength and bone density.

    I weighed more than you at my heaviest, and I could still do 8 pullups and over 30+ pushups, no one is ever more than 4 weeks away from those kind of stats, they just have to put in the work.

    Since you are already active I could share some apps that i liked:

    samsung health (samsung only probably, lol)

    Losing weight does not have to be stressful. Take your time and do it the right way, it is not about numbers on the scale, It is about health and vitality. keep working hard and you will see results.

    It all depends on your leptin response. Leptin stops hunger. Eating sugar and other high fructose sources prevents leptin from doing it's job.

    Genetics makes this leptin dysfunction vary.

    You likely are still thin, but your insides are dying, too, just much slower than your fat brethren.

    Studies are conclusive that energy levels and motivation are caused by hormones (like from the thyroid).

    People who have a poor leptin response likely have other poor hormonal balances and lack the motivation and energy that you are accustomed to.

    It's not bc of being fat, but being fat shares the cause.

    Fructose (WIDELY consumed), alcohol (WIDELY consumed, trans fats and branched chain amino acids (corn-fed meat is high) are all causes of the liver dysfunction that starts it all.
