There were some hospital caps taped to the door so I grabbed one from there and put it on my head. Went into the patients room for no more than 2 minutes and came out. I took off my cap and the nurse told me I wasn't supposed to get the cap from the door, to get it from the box instead, and that hopefully nobody used it prior. I'm a bit worried but why would someone use a cap and put it back on the door they would just throw it away. Maybe I'm just paranoid. Anyway will I be ok? As soon as I came home I washed my hair thoroughly and I will again in the morning.

I’m 20 years old and I struggle a lot with this, is it anxiety, what to do? 1) struggle breathing correctly, my heart is faster than normal and I am short of breath 2) very often find it incredibly hard to eat. I just feel like puking and it’s very hard to swallow my food and continue to eat, it’s a feeling that is hard to explain, but it’s terrible to live with especially during dinners with friends or family ... 3) I get very shaky very easily. If I’m nervous, excited, scared I can shake like crazy for no reason, I even find it hard to drive sometimes because my legs shake too. It’s hard to control and all I do is try to focus on breathing correctly and just wait to calm down. I often worry that it’s visible to others too, therefor I make sure to be sitting down when this happens to relax my muscles. 4) my heart beats fast often, especially when I’m shaking. And I generally feel like it’s beating faster than it should be all the time; (which makes me breath faster obviously)... I’m just looking for some advice.. because it’s very hard to live with... thanks!!

My mum is in a residential home with Alzheimer’s, she recently had a nasty infection and has gone down hill ever since. This was around 3/4 weeks ago, She’s been losing weight rapidly and has been sleeping/unconscious for most of the day for around a week and a half now. When asleep her jaw is in a constant open position. We were told to say our goodbyes yesterday as the manager does not think it will be long before she passes, she has not had any fluid or food for 3 days now but still seems to be holding on. One of the doctors said her breathing is almost superficial now as she is panting a lot. She is extremely weak and cannot move, talk or stay awake for longer than 5 minutes. How long can this stage last and is it quite common for them to hold on for a while?

There is no remission and you slowly lose you memory, then goes speech, and then your ability to breath and complete basic human functions. It's tortuous, and I do not wish it on anyone. I only hope my grandmother's suffering ends soon.

Stopped originally becouse that was my daily pattern as opposed to yearly. Yes, I am considered an alcoholic and from my own behaviors, patterns, i would say it is a life long thing, nothing seems to change, one picks right up where they left off. The way one thinks, process information, comes right back to, even when one isn't drinking but is hungry, tired, stressed, ect.. Always have to be on the lookout for it, they used to have a name for it, stinking thinking or something along those lines.

This was 6 months ago and I still can not fully use my hand. I'm Right handed and it was my right hand injured. I can't even open a jar and it caused me to have to quit a job on my first day because of this. Do I have a valid case?

I travelled to Bolivia in the summer and came back with what was diagnosed as tonsillitis. Having heard about Chagas disease and being aware of its prevalence there it got me thinking. I came back with a cold sore on my lip-potentially just that but I know the bite causes swelling around mouth/eyes. I had a swollen gland in my neck the size of a golf ball. Felt very feverish/achy-cold/fly/tonsillitis symptoms. Had digestive problems but put that down to the travelling and such but was quite extreme. Thinking back I had a hell of a rash on my legs but put that down to covering up in tight/dirty clothing. I had a throat swob taken when I returned and I was diagnosed with tonsillitis which is why I never asked but all of these are symptoms of Chagas including tonsillitis. We also slept in tents/matrasses/under thatched roofing-only thing I didn’t have was swollen eyes. Should I speak to my doctor about a test next time I go?

My father is 67 years old . He suffered from brain hemorrhage and stroke in the year 2009. He is also a diabetic patient. He recovered with medicine and was doing well. Now, few days back his sodium levels went down to 105 and was hospitalized. Now, by God's grace, he is recovering. He is eating food , walking and taking bath by own. But his blood pressure doesn't remain stable. It goes high upto 180/90. We are giving him medicines for that. But, one more major problem has occurred. He doesn't get enough sleep and always restless. He has become emotionally very weak. He is saying that different things come in his mind while sleeping. We make him understand by good thoughts. Asking him to think positive. He listens to us , but then again loses hope.He is asking us to take him to a psychiatrist. But I am worried about it. I want to cure this with good thoughts , good environment and devotional feelings. I am afraid if some side effect happens by taking psychiatrist medicines. He is already a stroke patient with diabetes and low sodium. I am the only daughter. My mother is already disheartened and I don't want anything bad for my father. Please advice me. What shall I do?
