  • I've been a Sales Representative for a short time, and now wondering why people are so rude?

Best answer: I do the same thing for a living.

You just have to look at it as a numbers game. For every 100 calls, maybe you'll have 20 conversations, 10 will be useful, and 2 or 3 will be people being hostile or just hanging up. Just ignore it and move on to the next call.

I’m a woman in my late 20’s I had an interview with a regional manager with a great resume and background in sales and management. The man who interviewed me asked me lots of questions about my financial status and exactly how much I make. I’m currently a YouTube partner and he had asked about my work gap of 2 years between college and my last job. I didn’t add it to my resume but told him I had a YouTube channel and it’s not something I wanted to continue with even though the money was great. He asked me how much they paid me and how many subscribers I had. I told him. He said he would call me in a few days and was impressed by my interview. He called me and left a message about calling him back to talk. I called him and left a message and he called me back right away. He said he had looked me up and couldn’t find me on YouTube and said what is your YouTube name? I couldn’t believe he had the nerve to ask me this! I hung up immediately. He called me back 3 times in a row before texting me saying I think we were disconnected but he had an offer for me. I sent him a text saying I could tell him my YouTube name but I felt that was more of a personal thing and I felt it was very inappropriate for him to ask me about my beauty related channel. I told him that I’m not interested in being stalked online and I was no longer interested. I blocked him immediately. He started to type but then I had blocked him. Is this inappropriate and odd?

I work in a restaurant type establishment, its like a dining hall,I would like to be a chef and one day own a business. I know that food type places need to make sure every thing works and is done right, but they seem kind of petty about things.Like there are stations we set up because we cook in front of the guests or the guests cook themselves as a team building event. so one of the tasks is to clean the stations, and set them up. the thing is now one of the guys there (chefs) said that my towel is too damp when I wipe down the stations but Its the only way you can remove stains,The one chef also seems to try and get me for every little thing. He is a nice guy but something tells me he isnt to fond of me I dont know, he also trys to act a little father like which is weird. ven one of the co-owners their a lady who is nice but is extremely obsessive about tiny things like how loud you close the door or put things back which is ok,but its hard to do your job when your not even given 2 seconds to do it before they say your doing it wrong, Im still interested in the industry, My thinking is that they only have small events like 20-30 people (party) a evening so that they have time to say things like that. I have been dealing with some mental issues lately so its hard to focus abit and maybe its all on me. There have just been a few incidents where I think theyre to quick to jump the gun and tell me im doing it wrong.you only learn by figuring it out on your own

I m not inexperienced, either; I ve worked for Fortune 500 companies (pharmaceuticals & business solutions) and have been genuinely successful in those roles. But when I m talking to recruiters, they pretty much tune out (understandably so) when I tell them I don t want to do sales anymore. I thought that marketing might be a plausible transition, but no company wants to take on a guy without digital marketing or HTML/CSS experience.

You don't recommend a book you have never read, how can you? You don't expect somebody in a grocery store to have tried every product you are looking for. People usually come in looking for a book, not a recommendation but if they do, refer them to somebody who can give a recommendation. There is something you ACQUIRE at a job. It is called experience. Nobody expects you to have it the first day.

I ve been interviewing for a job and it s likely I ll be receiving an offer later this week. In April of 2016, I was arrested for a DUI, which was later dismissed. I m curious if this is something I should be worried about even though it was dismissed? The job is with a tech company, no driving required. I was thinking that if they offer me the job, I would ask for a 3-week time table to put in my notice, which would give me a week to clear any background checks. Good idea just to be safe? My fear is putting in two weeks with my current employer and then finding out I m being turned down due to my history. Thanks for your help!

Alright so I'm 25 and thats a very important age in my life. I'm currently a sales representative at Sprint and I made 62,000 in 2017. I make sure 16.75 an hour including commission. My manager offered me a supervisor position for $19.00 bucks an hour but then my commission is based on the performance of the entire store and just not my performance. So I basically have to support my team and help make sales. I could possibly make more money but then again I could make less money in commission. At this point in my life should I make the jump to management? Currently in school for my math degree. This is just a job until I graduate in 3 years. Any advice helps
