To put it simply - I'm a hardcore car enthusiast who is looking for a different sports car. I plan on doing tons of track days and events. I've previously had a 350z and a 370z & I currently have a 6 speed Volvo S60R. I'm looking for a car that's focused around handling with a decent amount of power. I considered miatas, but I only like the 2016+ ones and those are out of my price range. I was looking for something close to the 10-15k range with 15k being only if it's *perfect*. I'm hesitant to go back to a 350z just because I've already had 2. I was considering the BMW 135i/335i because of the N54 engine and their tuneability and sharp handling (esp the 135i), but I have questions on reliability and maintenance costs. S2000s would be fantastic, but extremely expensive for how old and the miles they have on them. Any input would be amazing. Thanks.

I currently just turned 18 in June and just started my new job as a pharmacy technician getting paid 10.50 an hour. I started my job on august 4th and should be averaging 20 hours a week after I'm done with my training in a couple of weeks. I have no established credit but just got approved for a visa credit card and it should be here in about a week. I was looking to finance a car within the next six months or sooner because the car I have now (which is paid off) is slowly breaking down. This car has no A/C or heat and the gas meter is broken so I never know how much gas I have and also a few more problems. We bought the car for 3000 dollars two years ago. I think it's time for me to get a better car now that I'm going to be driving to and from college everyday (about 12 miles using the expressway) and don't think the car I have now is worth keeping. I have been looking to finance a car between 5-7K dollars since I am able to afford this monthly also accounting for car insurance to be about 300 monthly. I also have a consiger for the auto loan. But my question is would I be able to get this high of a loan and how long should I be working at my job to be able to get it? I worked at Kroger from 11/2015-04/2017 prior to the job I have now. I have 1000 dollars saved up as a down payment and am still saving.

Through a very careless oversight, my auto insurance had expired and I carried on driving and I later rear-ended another car. The young lady who's car I collided into looked to be only minor damage though she suffered a whiplash injury. I have been warned by a friend that I could now face serious financial outlay. He says that it may not be for the minor damage to her car, but it will be because of her personal injuries and the expenses she will incur. He says that even with a minor injury, it is likely that she will be suing me for a substantial amount in personal injury damages and for all of her medical and personal expenses. Do you think it's likely that she will be suing me for her personal injuries and expenses, or is there a chance I might get away with just having to pay for the damage to her car?

My parents were searching for a car for me for awhile. Finally, after months, they found one & bought it for me without me knowing. It was surprisingly cheap for the amount of miles it had on it. Even though I didn't really like it, I was so grateful because I finally had a car & it was very nice of them to buy it. I signed papers and the car is in my name. However, within the first couple weeks, all these problems arise in the car. It needed new parts. Since the car was cheap, my parents were kind enough to purchase some new parts. Then, I find out that the same problem keeps happening even after we got new parts. Now, I may have to get a new battery to fix it. We don't even know for sure if it will fix the problem. I looked up this problem with my car and it turns out thousands of the same car that i have got a recall for this problem. I feel like it's unable to be fixed. Is it spoiled of me to think that I shouldn't have to pay to fix it since I never had a say in purchasing it?

  • If you had $50,000 to spend on a new or used car plus the extra money for license, registration, tax and fees what would you buy?

Best answer: Probably an odd response, but I'd buy a brand new Chevy Express 15 passenger van although I'd look at the Nissan NV3500 too. They're around $40k brand new and fully loaded with a gas engine. They're over $50k brand new and fully loaded with the diesel though. Not really a fancy choice but I have a... show more

Not really a fancy choice but I have a big family and the Express and/or NV vans have the space I need and the towing capacity for a large travel trailer. I currently drive a Ford 12 passenger and it works but its getting old.

If I could keep the difference I'd buy one about 5 years old for around $20k and keep the difference or use it to upgrade my other car also, but if it had to be spent on the one car I'd get the new van.
