I am doing my timing belt this weekend on my current car because 200,000 miles on a car with a timing belt is definitely to much. However, I rarely hear of people doing timing belts, my father said he's never once done one on a car to be fair quite a few of his cars has timing chains but still the cars with belts he didn't worry about and they never broke. I am not saying that I'm going to push off the timing belt. but I feel as if the timing belt have turned into one of those things where its just over exaggerated on its importance. I've never heard of a car with 100,000 miles and a broken timing belt.

State Farm (their insurance) determined that their driver was at fault and agreed to pay for any repairs towards damages on my vehicle as well as any injuries that may have been caused by the accident. I thought that was end of story, until now. State Farm recently contacted me letting me know that I owe them for the repairs because after reviewing the claim, they felt I was now to be at fault. First of all, according to the police report, their driver was at fault due to following to close. Second, can State Farm actually change fault after they already paid for repairs to my vehicle?

Now my transmission is jerking from stop and go. I brought it to the dealer, and people said it was the replaced left tail light causing the problem. So I called the auto body shop asked about it, they refused to admit replacing it and said they only took it out and put it back, so it is not under warranty. It does show "remove/install" only on the bill I got from the body shop, but I did not notice until now. I mean, who will care if the tail light is replaced as long as it works, right? I called my insurance again, and they said they would investigate but it does not seem helpful at all. So what should I do now? Nobody is wanting to take responsibility. Thank you in advance for answering this question.

I have started working a summer job with a catering company and got my first paycheck yesterday. Since I have a learners permit but cannot practice driving right now since mom is driving her boyfriends truck which has a stick shift, I asked mom about me helping to pay for a rental car for a few weeks so I can get some much needed practice driving. Mom says that there are no rental car companies that would allow 17 year old with a learners permit to drive under any circumstances, so there is no way I could practice driving on one if she did rent one. She doesn't see anything wrong with my sister and I being passengers in the truck. Wondering if there are any rental car companies that would allow me to drive the rental car if mom is riding in the front seat with me. Will probably offer to split the price of renting a car for a week or two if so as I really need to get some practice driving and the truck is a tight fit for my mom, sister, and I. Would appreciate any information on rental car companies that would let me drive so I can try talk mom into us renting a car. I can try to get my license in September and am really worried about not getting to practice driving to so long.

I was injured in a car accident so hired a lawyer. An agent who works for the other driver's insurance company keeps calling me trying to get my statement. So I call him back and leave a message that he needs to contact my lawyer. Well he calls me back right away claiming that my message was garbled and only thing he heard was my name and that I obtained a lawyer. Which is most likely a lie since I didn't even leave my name. He then proceeds to ask me personal questions such as injuries, hospitals, medical record etc which I politely refuse to answer. He then says that I am required to answer them because legally I'm not represented by a lawyer until it's in their records, which sounded like a total BS so again I refused to answer. He then angrily says the claim will be delayed because I won't cooperate then hung up. So don't you think this guy was rude, dishonest and a liar?

Personally I think it's completely unreasonable, but I wanna be open to all perspectives and see if anyone has any advice/insight. I'm 20 years old and I don't have a license or even driven a car for that matter... but it's not like I haven't tried. When I turned 16 I wanted to take my permit test but my mom kept shutting me down and saying no and getting angry. I FINALLY took it when I was 18 (and passed). In my state permits are good for two years and it recently expired without me ever using it because my mom wouldn't take me driving (you have to have 20 hours driving with a parent/legal guardian before drivers ed). I recently took the test again so I have another permit. I'm now 20 and extremely fed up that my mom still won't allow me to drive... It's really sad when my mom has to drive me to work/hang out with friends. Whenever I bring up getting my license she gets really mad at me! I think a license is a necessity for most people and I HATE not having it!

Best answer: Last female student was 5'3" and 123 pounds- trainer was the CM400 Honda , she needed thick heeled boots to straddle and hold up, made her pick it up 3 times when she dropped it at stop signs. Your height but light weight- Suzuki S40, big single cylinder, good torque and very light weight for engine size. couple other posters have ridden them and say very good for city street, good country road and usable on interstate with about 85mph top. Suzuki GS500 another possible, Honda Shadow or whatever they call later model, moderate seat height, 500cc to 750cc with shaft drive. Honda Rebel often called good for beginner-- but younger brothers was a real kneebanger for me at 6 foot, seems it was a 'domestic' first and that means built around 4'10" to 5'4" inch Japanese new riders. good fit on 5'2" women, wife of friend with Harley sporty. Yamaha makes a Vtwin cruiser style in the 500cc to 900cc range- the 535cc may fit you better than the 250. these bikes have been made awhile, decent used models should be reasonable priced just in case they get totaled or you lose interest. 5 tp 10 year old Honda Rebels common in used markets- newbies ride a year, then get a crotch rocket to sometimes speed from officers, get their license revoked, then back to bicycles. The 350 to 650 engine size range can provide a fairly easy beginners bike that may be used much longer for long trips as well as city streets. I'm riding suzi 650 4 cylinder now with heavier Goldwing still in garage, little rat CM400 has dead battery- but might get new battery and another student next month- female sort of light, maybe 5'5" . .
