She was supposed to be done paying in December 2017 but the car dealer said that because she's been making her payments late he's adding two months for interest. So we paid those months, and she was late again on them, so no he's telling her that he's adding another month. Seems shady to me, but I'm not sure if it's legal.

  • Whats the best way to ask someone to sell a car they dont use?

Best answer: Being the owner of a couple of old Mustangs and a long time restoration entusiast i'll say that sending a letter is NOT the way to go. I usually assign those to the trash. Knock on their door, introduce yourself and tell them you're interested in the car and ask if they would mind letting you look it over.... show more

Knock on their door, introduce yourself and tell them you're interested in the car and ask if they would mind letting you look it over. Most people are proud of their old cars, regardless of their condition, and willing to show them off. After looking it over politely ask what their intentions are and LISTEN to what they say. Then you can ask if they would consider selling it. If their answer is yes then ask what they want for the car. Best of luck and remember restoration is usually expensive and a long term project.

My spouse and I bought a 2016 Sentra with 50,000 miles on it from a Nissan dealership. It didn’t have any scratches or anything but it was once a rental. The car drives just fine, but I am spectical of the previous rental use title.

even if it did have issues (which I'm sure it does), all theyre gonna do is hide them from you and lie about it. They make more money by lying than they do by being honest. Great car salesmen are career liars, such as my uncle.

obviously keep and fix up your current car. all cars at stealerships are overpriced, unless you're a millionaire.

  • Help! I fell in love with a vintage car! Can a 1975 Fiat Spider be a daily driver?

Best answer: I don't think that would work out too well for you.

A vintage sports car like that can be a "hobby" car for someone who has other reliable transportation. It can't be your daily driver.

Don't let anyone push you to borrow more than you can comfortably repay. If this is from a used car lot, DO NOT let them arrange the financing! It is better to avoid letting a new car dealer arrange the financing as well, but not quite as shady as a used car lot.

When you are figuring out the monthly cost, take into account insurance (full coverage required on a loan almost universally) and general upkeep and maintenance on the vehicle. Gas, oil, registration, sales tax, tires... it adds up quickly.

Avoid the "buy here pay here" lots, which generally sell crap for much more than the car is worth, and will repo the car the 1st time your payment is late. Even by a day.

The most important thing is not to get in over your head. If you can afford $300 a month as a for instance, don't let them talk you into $400. Stick with your budget.

Shortly after purchasing these vehicles I met someone and we are getting married. She has three kids so neither vehicle works for us (truck seats 3/car seats 4). I know I'm going to take a loss on the Camaro and maybe the Colorado...but how do I go about trading them in. Honestly, I would like to trade in the two for a van or SUV and roll the negative amount onto the new vehicle. When I spoke to the few local dealers around me each had a different answer. What are my options?

If you have the car you would need to return it and get the deposit back. The insurance company will prorate the cost because you did have coverage when you were driving the vehicle,

You could check with your own bank or credit union to see if you can get your own financing

Will the dealership have to give me another vehicle if this problem cannot be fixed? And if so how does that work?
