  • How painful will it be to get my wisdom teeth removed at 24?

It was like nothing. I went to work the next day. Took Motrin for a few days to help keep it from swelling up and hurting, but never had much pain. Yeah, I ate a lot of soup and soft food for about a week. But pain? Not much at all.

So don't make yourself miserable imagining horrible things that might never happen.

Added later: My wisdoms were impacted, but I didn't have much pain at all.

After, someone has to drive you home, you'll still partly be affected by the NO2 and any other drug they gave you. After that you'll be on pain pills and antibiotics, this will keep you at home and resting for 48-72 hours, as they instruct, and probably on soft diet. They'll give you post operative instructions but you can ask them before too.

Having both done at the same time really sucks.
For now, just wear the rubber bands when you are awake and can deal with it. Suck on ice or have an ice pack on your face to help. Take over the counter pain meds before you go to bed to help you get a good night's sleep.
After a week, your mouth should have gotten used to everything so it shoudln't be a sharp jabbing pain. You should be able to wear the rubber bands at night at this point.
You should also tell your orthodontist that the pain is keeping you awake at night. I was really excited to get my braces off, so my orthodontist was trying to get my teeth nice as quickly as possible, but i would always wake up in the middle of the night in pain after every appointment, so I told him and he changed the treatment plan. It was slower, but more comfortable.

I had a dental appointment made for a time i could ride my bike to the office. I live about 10 miles away from the office so the timing was important. A thunderstorm started to come through about 20 minutes before i would leave for my appointment. Beings as I was on a bicycle, i didn't see it a wise idea to bike on the highway. I tried calling to cancel my appointment, alas my phone had no dial tone for hours. I feel badly for not showing up and I can understand why I may get denied back to the office. However, i have many teeth either chipped below the gum line, broken in half or gone. This is the best office around (and one of two in a 50 mile radius that accepts my insurance) and therefore cannot really go anywhere else. Is it worth my time to fill out the application ad whatnot or is it more than possible they black listed me?

I got stitches, obviously, but they are gone now, the gum below the tooth thats 2 teeth next to the extraction has a lot of swelling that has been there a few days and it hasnt gone down, i think its cuz i started vaping again since the dentist said it was okay to do, and the vapor irritated it. The swelling around the socket is pretty much gone and its not bothering me at all. Its just the gum below that one tooth that had the stitch over it. Ive been rinsing with warm salt water, taking aspirin, and icing it for about 10-20 minutes at a time

  • Bump on inside lip that hasn't gone away after 12 years?

When I was 6 years old I went to the dentist and they gave me some numbing stuff (I don't know if it was novocaine) and I bit my lip what mustve been pretty hard. Im 18 now and I still have this big bump on my inner lower lip. Does anybody know what this could be? Why is it still there?
