• Why do dentists like people who have insurance rather than those that don't?

Best answer: It has nothing to do with insurance. Dentists provide a skilled service. They "like" patient who pay their bills on time because they have student loans to repay, children to feed, employees to pay, and equipment and supplies to pay for. • Why would a dentist's office have a box of Halloween candy out for their patients in the waiting room??? Isn't that counter productive?

The dentist should be encouraging you NOT to eat candy! What are they trying to do, make us get fat AND give us cavities?!

  • Can cavities get larger in just a year?

I have a few teeth left to fix and still have a bit of insurance left, but my dental assistant said I can also come back a year later after I get insured again. Wouldnt cavities get larger in just a year?

  • Is 10 too young for braces if he still has baby teeth and doesn’t brush well? They claim he will need braces and a headgear but if we don’t?

Start now he will need teeth pulled. Also what if his 2nd molars don’t come in until he’s 13? Would they really leave him in braces for 4 years? Anyone else been in this situation? Could they just do the headgear for the overbite and then do braces when he’s more responsible? We already have him on rx toothpaste... show more

  • Should I have this tooth or teeth fixed?

I have a tooth or teeth that only hurts when something cold hits it. I have fillings there from 40 + years ago there. Don't really know if should have work done or leave it alone for now.

  • Awake or asleep for wisdom teeth?

Best answer: It depends on your pain tolerance. I have more fear of general anesthesia than I do of pain, so I opted for just the local (no gas) even though mine were impacted. It wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. I really didn't have much trouble with them at all and only needed to stay quiet for a couple of days.

Didn’t think much of it and go and brush my teeth then look and there’s a dark hole in my tooth. I brush my teeth several times a day and this was not here the night before so I’m absolutely confused. I’m away from home in school right now and I never really go to the dentist (not my faught my moms) so what should I do? I have a slight tooth ache but it’s okay for now.

  • How will I feel after getting 2 upper wisdom teeth that are complete bony impacted wisdom teeth out?

Best answer: You'll feel fine, just a little woozy, and just for about 10 minutes after. And there's nothing to worry about with the new sedation techniques. They're safe, and remarkably accurate in terms of keeping you under for exactly the time required for a procedure, and no longer.

  • Poll: does getting braces hurt ?

Best answer: Not when you get the boxes. It hurts when they put the wires in and mostly when they tighten them. It lasts a day or two but it's worth it.
