• My cat bit me.?

About a month ago my cat bit me. My finger swelled up for about a week then it went down. My finger just now is starting to swell back up and it is painful. Any ideas as to why this might be happening? I don't have health insurance to see a doctor.

And they say school is starting soon and they don't think it's the right time. But I really want one now I feel that we should get one before summer ends so we can get used to it. But how do I convince my parents!?? Especially my dad usually he's so easy with things but this he's like eh! Please give me advice!

A lot of the dogs advertised by the shelters say things like "experienced dog owner required" or note some sort of behavioural issues which require experienced attention. I don't plan to get a dog yet but do want to in the future when the time is right. I do plan to look at adopting first of course. But from browsing the past several months, I haven't really found any dogs near my area to adopt that are suitable for me / my knowledge (I'm a first-time owner, so taking on a more difficult dog obviously isn't a good idea). So if I cannot find one to adopt, I plan to buy from a reputable breeder (not a BYB, to be clear). But this seems to be looked down upon?

I honestly don't know what i would do without her. I wish dog's had a longer life expectancy such as elephants. Is there any home remedies I could do?

I have a female Pitbull, almost 2 years old. The problem here is that she doesn't treat us like we're her owners. She bears no respect. She runs away from home very often with our neighbour's stray dog. She retuns only to our neighbor because their dog comes back. When we get her back home she is usually scolded. I know we shouldn't do that but it's just how it comes. My father beat her twice back then and she has a guilty spot where she goes after we get her back. We tried approaching her in different ways: when she comes home we would reward her with food and stuff. But it doesn't work. And when we go on walks, she always stops midway and doesn't want to move. We call her. and try to get her up but she just won't move so we have to get her by force and when we return home after walks she goes back to her guilty spot with her tail hung low. It's very sad actually. She never listens to us. Although she is spoiled at home (we let her sleep on the couch, eat premium food and sometimes leftovers) she still doesn't love us like a dog should love their owner. I hope she isn't traumatized or anything. I truly love her. I need advices on how to help her. And giving her to a shelter or a more suited family is a no from the start. Help!

Best answer: Any behavioral change usually warrants taking a dog to a vet to rule out any medical issues. Senior dogs such as her should getting comprehensive geriatric wellness exams every six months. We're not vets, therefore call your vet for an appointment.

Once cleared medically feed her properly, on a set schedule, twice daily, am/pm, no free feeding nothing else, except clean water which should be available 24/7. Any diet changes should be done gradually over a period of ten days to two weeks, no changes should be done unless vet recommended. A healthy dog will not intentionally starve themselves, they will eat when they get hungry enough, dogs are picky only if their owner make them that way.
