    In Matthew 7:21 Jesus says not everyone who says lord, lord will enter Heaven. How then can I know if I’m truly saved? How do I know he’s not talking about me?

    Best answer: You have the entire concept reversed. In evaluating the evidence for the existence of 'something' you must start from the null hypothesis. The null hypothesis in this case is that there is no God. You must then evaluate if the evidence is strong enough to discard the null hypothesis in favor of an alternate hypothesis.

    Theism fails at two levels...

    1 - There is insufficient evidence to reject the null hypothesis. I.e. in the absence of consistent and measurable evidence for (or against) God we must conclude there is no God or that God is irrelevent.

    2 - There isn't a singular alternative hypothesis. I.e. given that there are 1000s of different views of God and how he interacts with our world, there isn't a singular hypothesis that can even be tested, thus, we must accept the null.

    The problem with theistic reasoning is that is starts with the assumption of the alternative hypothesis (God does exist) is the default. You cannot discover truth unless you start from the null.

    Best answer: Well, if you're taking a legit course in religious history, then you must know why religions are created, under what circumstances, and how they grow over the decades and centuries.

    And, you should also have surmised that they are all lies.

    =================

    All cult believers have "visions" for example. But they all have visions of the cult creature they are individually conditioned to see -- christers see the surfer boy version of christ (as depicted in all the fraudulent pictures of him in churches and BuyBulls, but they never see the guy that looks like Osama bin Laden, which is what christ would have looked like...); some catholics see Mary; the Hindi see the many gods that THEY worship; American natives see the gods THEY grew up worshiping... but, ya know what? muslims and Hindi never have visions of christ; christians never have visions of Shiva; and on and on...

    That is simply one of the MANY things about religion that demonstrates to a critical thinker that religions are false.

    If ANY ONE RELIGION was a TRUE RELIGION - then EVERYONE would have a vision of that religion's ICON. ie: if chritainity was TRULY REAL, then every memebr of every cult on earth, when they had a vision, woudl see jesus christ, and nobody else. but THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN.

    The Australian Aborigines know their own history going back more than 50,000 years. And NOT ONCE in all that time, have ANY OF THEM EVER seen christ, been visited by christ, or had christ appear to ANY OF THEM in their visions.

    I'm Indian and this dumb Black girl keeps saying Indians are Black too. I know I'm dark, but I'm not Black cuz I'm not Sub-Saharan African, and my face structure is not Black and I don't have Black Afrocentric hair, my hair is straight. I have nothing against Blacks, but I just don't believe I am one of them. And I hate when Blacks try to claim us and our culture. Just cuz I'm dark doesn't make me Black. And I know many Blacks say all humans are from Africa, but still humans changed and we aren't all Black, get over it. Emma Watson isn't Black, obviously. Only the humans that stayed in Sub-Saharan Africa are Black. And the "Out of Africa" theory has been debunked. But the mainstream media won't let it go. There was Neanderthals that were never in Africa, and most Whites and Asians have Neaderthal DNA. Neanderthals were very smart for their time and looked less ape-like than the original humans. Why doesn't the mainstream media ever show this? Just to shut Blacks up, it's annoying.

But it can ALSO be quite a bit more than that... It really depends on who you are! And another cool thing..? Is: your sense of it can grow and expand over time! :D

    Anyway, I'm not quite sure how you can *force* yourself to make that kind of leap... I guess you *sort of* have to want it. Or at least be open to it. Maybe experiment with different ways of thinking, over time, and wait for neuroplasticity to run its course..? Or you can speed it the hell up, by deliberately seeking out spiritual experiences for yourself... (Holotropic breathwork might be a good place to start, I think. It is one of the most effective spiritual practices that I know of, in altering consciousness, that do NOT require ingesting any additional chemicals! :D) Or.. short-circuit the hell out of it, by ingesting some additional chemicals, (of the entheogenic kind, preferably), and asking for that kind of an experience / reality shift.. You just might get it! I got it, and I didn't even ask for it. (Or so I thought...) Funny how that works. :-P
