I ask because cat only people seem very different from dog only people. Is it purely preference or is there scientifically more behind it?

  • Which type of cat should I get?

I like types of cats like birma or ragdoll, but I've read that these type of cats shouldn't be left alone (I leave home at 7am and come home at 3-4pm). Also, we often go on vacation in summer for like 14 days, can the cat be alone without his owner for that long? (I would hire a petsitter to every third day?)

You will see the fur start to come in as a fuzz then it will get longer til it finally fully grows in. It may take months to fully regrow.

Sometimes there are health issues that can cause fur to grow back slowly or not allow it to grow back at all. I had a friend who would shave her very furry dogs for the summer - one had thyroid issues and her fur would not grow back in correctly.

Getting a rabies shot is also hard on their system and your cats body is likely focused on dealing with that as well as recovering from the neutering rather than regrowing hair. If they shaved by his ear there was probably some sort of infection, matting, or other reason. This would not be something that would normally happen for a neuter.

The shaving is to remove the fur from the area of a wound or incision so it can be kept clean.

  • I cannot stand cats?! Can someone give me 10 good reasons why they like like them?

Why I strongly dislike cats: 1. I’m Allergic (Cats & Dogs) 2. The Hair. I know not all cats shed but my boyfriend’s cat sheds like crazy! I can’t deal with the hair all over everything. It makes me feel dirty. 3. The smell of urine and cat feces is DISGUSTING! and lingers. (Especially, the urine). 4. They... show more

Temperament- in my opinion, cats are not as loveable to me as dogs are. 7. I’m the BOSS and thats it. I rule my castle and not the cat.

I think they take it in when they get home after a 9-5, and it looks fat enough. But it just sits by the door all day.

  • How often should you cut cat's nails?

Best answer: I trim them about every two weeks - you want to be sure that they don't get so long that they get caught in the carpet, etc. The back ones can go longer - those get done about once a month.

He's now grooming me and he won't let the other cat near me, he hissed and scratched the other cat when she tried to come near me. He still follows me and when I sleep, he sleeps next to me and grooms me. When I'm sitting down, he'll sit on my lap and sleep and when my friend tries to take him off, he makes a growl noise and hisses. He's 2 years old and is a reddish brown maine coon.
