I know that it obviously wouldn't cause issues when said aloud as Dove "duv" and Dover "doe-ver" are two different pronounciations, but you see the name Ben Dove written down and you instantly think the poor guy was beaten up a lot at school for having an almost punny name. And the other day I served a woman called Amy How, which could easily be misspelled or mispronounced as "anyhow" especially as M and N are next to each other on the keyboard. And a girl I went to school with was called Candice Dick. If having that as her last name wasn't bad enough, I'm sure she wasn't amused by the easy "candy stick" pun her name makes. Should parents take their last name into consideration when naming their kids to avoid this problem?
