Indoor cats, is it cruel?
I'm probably wrong but I imagine an indoor cat would have a closer more dog-like bond with it's 'staff' than an outdoor cat?
We were thinking of getting something notoriously affectionate like a ragdoll but I don't know if they can be left for the duration of a working day?
I know lots of people keep their cats inside for safety reasons which I understand but after growing up watching my parents cats spend happy summers murdering the local wildlife I've been wondering about the mental well being and happiness of indoor cats? Because personally I'd rather have a short happy life than a long boring one and I'm sure most animals would too.
I would obviously invest in toys that were mentally and physically stimulating but I'd imagine no toy can compare to the feeling of mice guts squelching round your claws. I suppose if they've never experienced it they can't miss it but it's instinct, they know what they're programmed to do don't they?
I don't mean to offend anyone, I just want to make sure I'm doing the best thing for any animal that comes into my life.
Thanks in advance
