First Car decision - Help needed on Decision?

Hi there, so I've come to the stage where I've passed my driving test (2 days ago) just about to turn 18 in the following weeks and i'm dithering on whether buying a car may be the best option right now. Just... show more Hi there, so I've come to the stage where I've passed my driving test (2 days ago) just about to turn 18 in the following weeks and i'm dithering on whether buying a car may be the best option right now.

Let me set the scene. So I live in london, and currently attending college doing A-levels. Just passing my test has got the adrenaline pumping "yes time to buy a car" but im contemplating if this would be the best option. Essentialy i would be using the car over the next 8 month to commute back and forth to college as my college is a solid 1.5 hour journey so the car would be benefical to use every now and again i.e. if its pouring with rain. After that i would then be using the car not as frequent as i potentially may be going to university. So the car would basically be an option for leisure.

Ultimately right now im just looking for any experience that may have gone through a similar scenario, if you had any regrets rushing to buy a car or if you fully support decision etc. Any advice would be brilliant.
