It's a natural thing. We all want to be liked and respected.
But your goal should be to be such a strong person that you aren't really concerned about what mean people (or people who don't like you) say, do, or think.
A strong person has good character (honesty, integrity, trustworthiness), a positive attitude (cheerful, caring, friendly, forgiving, helpful, and respectful), fulfills their responsibilities (for handling pains in a positive way, for always trying to make a good choice, for taking care of themselves, for serving others), puts forth their best effort, and displays self-control (of their body, anger, tongue and money). In order to become stronger and stronger as a person you have to practice being strong every day. If you mess up, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, forgive yourself, and go back to trying to be strong. If you decide to date one day this is the type of person to look for (another strong person) in order to avoid a broken heart.
Hope this helps!
