65-year-old Dad refuses to consider ever retiring or even scaling back on work despite being in poor health. What should we do?
He has his own landscaping business and he still can’t make his payroll on time and still works 14 hour days doing manual labour which causes him stress and results in him getting more seizures.
If he sells his $1 million house he could live comfortably off that and still work if he wanted to — but for someone else. He said his business is who he is and he’d rather die having a seizure behind the wheel than retire. He says there’s no point in retiring because he can’t do the one thing he’d want to do which is getting a pilot’s licence (barred due to epilepsy).
